Brentwood, TN - Tennessee State Representative Gino Bulso officially announced his campaign for the open 7th Congressional District seat today, promising to bring an unflinching America First agenda to Washington and take on liberal forces standing in the way of securing America’s borders, defending its values, and restoring common sense government.
“I ran for office not to play politics but to get results,” said Bulso. “In the state legislature, I have taken the fight to the far Left, the bureaucracy, and anyone else trying to hijack our values. In Congress, I’ll do the same. The people of Tennessee deserve a representative who puts them first, not the woke mob or the global elites.”
Bulso’s legislative record reads like a blueprint for conservative reform. He led on the “Trump Act” (HB 0145), which sought to eliminate taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens residing in Tennessee.
“We are a nation of immigrants, but we are a nation of laws first. We must support President Trump’s efforts to ensure that only lawful immigrants are permitted to remain here,” said Bulso.
He also championed HB 306, a commonsense bill that keeps biological boys out of girls’ athletics and out of girls’ locker rooms and other private spaces.
“Girls' sports are for girls. Period. We refuse to sit by while woke ideology robs our daughters of scholarships, fairness, and decency,” Bulso said.
And Bulso stood strong on protecting American land from adversarial nations with HB 727, blocking foreign ownership of Tennessee farmland by governments and entities linked to hostile regimes like the Chinese Communist Party.
Bulso has also taken a strong stand on medical freedom in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. He authored HJR 28, a proposed constitutional amendment that affirms Tennesseans’ right to refuse any medical treatment — including vaccinations — even during a declared emergency.
"Tennesseans deserve the right to make their own medical decisions, free from government coercion," said Bulso. "No one should be forced to undergo an unwanted medical treatment. I fought to protect that right in the statehouse, and I’ll defend it in Washington."
Bulso’s track record proves he doesn’t just talk about conservative principles — he passes laws that make them reality. From banning sanctuary cities to defending girls’ sports and enshrining medical freedom, he has delivered for Tennessee families.
"I’m running for Congress because we need proven conservatives who get results," said Bulso. "I’ll take the fight for medical freedom, secure borders, balanced budgets, and parental rights straight to Washington, just as I have done in Nashville."
Bulso has sponsored or co-sponsored a host of bills that reflect the Trump-era priorities voters continue to demand:
“Some politicians talk about supporting conservative principles, but I have passed more than a dozen laws that back it up,” Bulso said. “I will never back down from a fight if it means protecting Tennessee families, securing our nation, and defending our Constitution.”
Bulso also emphasized the urgent need to rein in Washington’s out-of-control spending and reduce the national debt, calling it a threat to future generations and America’s long-term strength.
"We cannot continue to mortgage our children’s future to fund a bloated, broken federal government," said Bulso. "I will work tirelessly in Congress to cut reckless spending, balance the budget, and bring fiscal sanity back to Washington."
Bulso will campaign aggressively across the district in the weeks ahead, meeting with grassroots conservatives and building momentum behind his bold vision for restoring American greatness alongside President Trump.
